Die-Cutting with Counter-Pressure

Counter-pressure is recommended

where tight tolerances are required
when die-cutting plastic material (PP or PE foil) for inmould labels and similar articles to counteract stretching or movement of the material
when die-cutting large-size labels of difficult material
for 4-sided punching of folded sheets (sheet separating for diaries)
when die-cutting tempered and varnished aluminium foil.

Busch have been manufacturing counter-pressure systems since 1972. The powerful units are easy to handle - available for each die-cutter.

The pneumatic mobile counter-pressure unit for models B, B+P, BL, BLS and CL can be retrofitted and wheels up to the machine in place of the delivery tray. For die-cutter of series A the unit is easy to fit on the support of the delivery tray.

The die is especially manufactured for counter-pressure cutting, with a matrix of plastic or aluminium inside the die. The unit is connected to a compressed air supply. The material is placed in front of the matrix and is held vertical for stabilizing when the hydraulic pressure of the ram pushes the material through the die. When the ram reaches the end of its stroke, the material is pushed back into the feeding tray by the pneumatic counter-pressure cylinder. The die-cut material is then removed from the feeding tray. This reduces the throughput of the machine by half.

Counter-pressure unit GD-A for Die-Cutting Machine A, A+P and AL

For die-cutting small-size inmould labels and neck labels from tempered and varnished aluminium foil. After removing the delivery tray the counter-pressure unit is easy to fit on the support.

The protective hood remains on the machine.

Counter-pressure unit GD-1 for Die-Cutting Machine B and B+P

The unit is fitted to the machine in place of the delivery tray.

The trolley facilitates the removal and storage of the delivery tray which can be retrofitted quickly for jobs without counter-pressure.

Counter-pressure unit GD-2 for Die-Cutting Machine BL and BLS

The unit is fitted to the machine instead of the delivery tray. The trolley facilitates the removal and storage of the tray.

Counter-pressure device GD-3 for Die-Cutting Machine CL

Die-cutter CL is mainly used with counter-pressure for producing large-size inmould labels.

The trolley is used for the removal and storage of the delivery tray, when working with counter-pressure
